Melonie Bayl-Smith will be speaking at 100% Design as part of the London Design Festival this month, revealing the design process and material construction of the De-Form Wall. Designed by Bijl Architecture in collaboration with AR-MA, the De-Form Wall is a sculptural wall installation made of carved Corian. The wall forms a double height backdrop to the stair atrium at the Bijl Architecture-designed Naremburn House in Sydney.
Mel will be discussing the design of the wall which is inspired by the topography of the site, answering why Corian was chosen, and describing the fabrication process, which required the creation of custom tooling. The talk is at 11am on Wednesday 23 September and will be followed by tea and coffee so please tell your London contacts to come along!
